As we are formally more the wins keep coming. The winner of last night was win in our eight stakes, a hot 75 percent -speed weekly. And last night they didn’t even make us work for it backed the Washington Nationals in a really appealing +103, and the game was a blowout. The Nationals are directing the National League in runs scored at the very month of August, and that I expected them to hammer Pirates starter Joe Musgrove, and that’s just what happened.
Washington scored six runs on Musgrove at the next inning to jump out to a lead, and they coasted the rest of the way outside. Even the Nats played and by the time that this game was all said and done, Washington walked off with all the 11-1 victory, and our dog money ticket was cashed by us. Washington has scored double runs in five of their last seven games.
Where this production was hiding at all year long, I really don’t know, but right now, this group has been hitting the ball better than any other team in the league, with a broad margin. The Nats kept pace with the Atlanta Braves who stay six games back to first place in the National League East Division and won yesterday. For the pick of today, we will check in on these Braves, where the Braves host the Marlins as we head to Atlanta.
The Miami Marlins have been in Atlanta Thursday trying to avoid the sweep in game three of a three-game set. This series hasn’t been aggressive to this stage as the Braves took the first games . They are begging for the season to finish at this point as their production has actually fallen off in August. Miami is a significant in their eighteen games.
For Atlanta, the Braves are hoping to complete the sweep as the Washington Nationals are hot on their heels at the NL East Division. The Braves have won seven out of their past nine matches, such as string wins on Dodgers and the Mets and have been among the greatest teams in the league.
Starting tonight to get the Braves is Mike Soroka (10-2 2.41 ERA), and for the Marlins it’s Sandy Alcantara (4-11 4.35 ERA). The game is placed at two and a half conducts. The Braves are big -275 home favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 4:20 PM PST in SunTrust Park in Atlanta.
Mike Soroka continues to be an addition starting rotation this year. After a cup of java using the group this past year, making five starts, he has been a region of the rotation this year, and it has generated some stellar results. His 2.41 ERA is good for second in the majors, supporting only Hyun-jin Ryu, and before men like Max Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, along with Jacob deGrom.
At just twenty-two years old, Soroka is simply another in a long line of very good, and youthful players in Atlanta. The kid has had only one losing decision since April 18th! Along with when he’s on the mound, the Braves seem to triumph. Atlanta is this year 15-7 if Soroka begins.
In 3 starts this season, he has been almost unbelievably good against Miami. Soroka chucked a joint inningsrather than throwing fewer than seven innings in any 1 start and has allowed only one earned run. His ERA in those three starts? 0.41, the lowest against any team he’s faced this season.
Sandy Alcantara is superior than his record might lead one to trust. Wins can be difficult to find, when you play for the worst team in the league, however, Alcantara has done a job of throwing anyway. He has pitched very well here in August and left his first, no matter what should be many, All-Star teams this year.
This month, Alcantara has an ERA of simply 3.20 in 3 starts. This includes a powerful outing against those exact same Atlanta Braves where he worked into the eighth inning, giving up just three runs and tossing two and seven thirds a couple of weeks back. He’s made a quality beginning, six innings or more, three runs or not . Together with the 1 hiccup that might have the best lineup in all of baseball.
This number is far too big to really think about taking Atlanta. We watched the Detroit Tigers win a game against the Houston Astros at which the Astros were setting a totally absurd -500, so upsets can happen, but I do not see lightning striking here. And I think that this Marlins lineup will not have anything to get Mike Soroka.
Soroka has owned them all year, and I expect only the exact same tonight. You can pencil him for seven-plus innings or work. And when I examine Sandy Alcantara, ” I believe he is going to get a way to be decent. He will not shut the Braves down, so not a lot of people do, but I still do not see him getting blasted either.
Thus, when I look at the match complete, I see value on the under nine and a half conducts. It’s very hard for a game to strike double-digits if a lot of the teams does not score. And the Marlins just are not likely to place many runs on the board tonight. The issue is, will Alcantara be good enough to get crushed but not destroyed? And I think that response is yes.
We saw two weeks ago once Alcantara pitched well against the Braves he can take care of their firepower, and also with the Braves as prohibitive favorites to win the match, they should have a healthy lead late, and will not get to bat in the bottom of the ninth. Little details such as the fact that the Braves push this game to the above, and will get eight innings to score runs, have to be evaluated.
I visit an early lead being taken by Atlanta and winning moving away. Something in the selection of 5-1 Atlanta seems about perfect. Give me the under two and a half runs tonight in game from SunTrust Park!
