The Los Angeles Dodgers made Simple work of the Miami Marlins on Tuesday Using a beatdown of 15-1.
There’s absolutely no mercy rule in Major League Baseball, however I feel the Marlins wanted to throw in the towel soon following the Dodgers put together another big inning in the 9th.
Regardless of a 11-1 direct, the Dodgers kept the beating going with 4 more runs to cash in a simple victory. Matt Beaty needed a standout night, as he led the Dodgers with 4 RBI’s at the evening. Rookie Dustin May had yet another good performance as well. May allowed just 3 hits and 1-run across 5.2 innings of play.
May is not going away anytime soon. He’s going to be next in line to be the next Dodgers’ star member of the turning. May is the top pitching prospect in their system and it’s been apparent pretty quickly in his profession. He might become a somewhat valuable weapon for the Dodgers in the postseason.
Even when he doesn’t produce the postseason rotation, the Dodgers will direct to him in the bullpen to get some outs. It’s looking as though the Dodgers will likely soon be utilizing Ross Stripling from the bullpen rather than May, however. That includes Rich Hill who has been hurt also. With May creating, he can observe a role as a reliever in October. That’s frightening to think using the luxury of both Stripling and Hill out of their bullpen.
Clayton Kershaw was originally scheduled to pitch yesterday, but Dave Roberts gave him an additional day off to rest. It worked out superbly, because the Dodgers didn’t need Kershaw on Tuesday. He will get his chance against the Marlins now. The Marlins will counter with Elieser Hernandez, that expects to halt the bleeding after getting whipped around a night ago. Kershaw probably didn’t mind getting an excess day off and the Dodgers got a huge win out of this deal. He will be back at the saddle Wednesday since the Dodgers look for much more against the Marlins. With a win, the Dodgers will advance to 9-1 in their last ten matches and 81-41 on this season.
Despite facing a potential letdown place last night, the Dodgers were playing their best on Tuesday night at Miami. They will be in great hands with Kershaw on the bulge Wednesday. Kershaw goes into tonight having an ERA of 2.77 along with a stellar 11-2 record. He’s been even better recently, with a 2.37 ERA and perfect 3-0 record in his past three outings.
His victory against the Marlins has been well-documented, as he has held them to some .156 batting average and only 1 home streak in 154 at-bats. It’s rather common for pitchers to have success against the Marlins, particularly this season as they’ve been mostly horrid in 2019. Miami really are 30th in the major leagues with just 3.64 runs scored per match. I wouldn’t expect the Marlins to eclipse their period average in this one against Kershaw.
The Dodgers have only observed Eliaser Hernandez in one game for a total of 18 at-bats. They did fairly well, using a .400 OBP and 4 runs scored. Matt Beaty, who had been on fire , has gone deep to Hernandez. Hernandez is coming from a dominant performance across the Braves, as he gave up only two hits and no runs over 6 innings.
I really don’t think he’s at a point in his career where he’s always going to perform like that, though. There should be some regression for him . I’m not anticipating another run party for the Dodgers tonight in Miami, but they likely give Kershaw ample run support to work with. This resembles a repeat wager nighttime in Miami, with the Dodgers another solid option on the runline.
